What can you say about Vianden, it is the most stunning town. Winding cobblestoned streets, old buildings, river meandering through the centre, beautiful little churches, chateau on the hill overlooking it and cafes to sit at and take it all in …ticks all the boxes.
The Chateau is lovely to visit, you can either park and walk up the hill or take the chairlift across to it and walk down. If you take the chairlift there is a café at the top so leave time for a coffee and enjoy the view. The track down is a bit dodgey so be careful.
There is also a activity centre up there to do a high ropes course and some other things if you are so inclined.
We went the Victor Hugo Museum of Les Miserable fame sadly although it has an English audio guide we found it hard to follow and none of the signage or letters etc are translated so we were a bit disappointed.
Vianden has more than enough to keep you busy for the day, only 47 kms from Luxembourg City and accessible by public transport.
Enough talking enjoy the photos
